HOW IT STARTED
Our Story
We live in a world that moves fast and talks loud but rarely asks how you're actually doing. Teen mental health has reached a crisis point, and yet so many young people still feel like no one could possibly understand what they're going through. Like their feelings are too much, or not enough, or somehow they’re alone.
The Same Page was created from a friendship between two girls, two states, two completely different lives. Despite the distance and our different paths, we discovered we were going through many of the same things. That connection healed something in both of us. And we want that for you, too.
So we started using our page to talk openly about mental health. And we created a journal, because we learned firsthand that knowing someone on the other side of the country could feel exactly what you feel. That realization changes everything. That's why we started this.
WHY WE’RE HERE
Our Purpose
Nearly 40% of high schoolers say they’ve felt persistently sad or hopeless for weeks at a time. One in five have seriously considered suicide. And yet 8 in 10 teens dealing with depression never get treatment, not because help doesn’t exist, but because so many of us don’t know how to ask for it, or don’t believe anyone would understand if we did.
That’s the gap The Same Page exists to fill. Not therapy. Not a fix. Just a space. Honest, unfiltered, and made by teens who’ve felt exactly what you’re feeling. A place where you don’t have to perform being okay. Where “I don’t know how I feel” is a valid answer. Where being anxious, being sad, being the one who seems fine but isn’t. None of it makes you too much, or not enough.
That’s why our guided questions exist; to help you slow down, sit with what you’re actually feeling, and put it into words. Because expression matters. Naming what’s going on inside you, even just to yourself, can be the first step toward carrying it a little lighter. You don’t need the right words. You just need to start.
This is for every teen who has ever sat with a feeling too big to say out loud, and wondered if anyone else has ever felt it too. You have. We have. And we’re not asking you to fix anything. We’re just asking you to show up, one page at a time.
OUR MISSION
Breaking the Stigma
To break the stigma around teen mental health by creating honest, accessible spaces in conversation, in community, and on paper where teens feel seen, supported, and never alone.
